  3. Complete the complaint on cybercrime.gov.in, choosing your state, and save the acknowledgement number.
  4. Keep screenshots, transaction IDs and the scammer's numbers, UPI IDs and links. Do not delete the chats.

Quick answers

Is there a different cyber crime number for each state?

No. For lost money, call 1930 wherever you are. Each state and UT also has a cyber cell (nodal officer) number and email on the national portal's list, which are for following up on a complaint already filed. They are in the table on this page.

How do I file a cyber crime complaint online?

Go to cybercrime.gov.in, register a complaint, choose your state, add your evidence and submit. Save the acknowledgement number: it is a complaint reference, not an FIR number.

Which number should I call for an emergency?

Call 112 for a crime happening right now or if you are in danger. 1930 is for reporting money lost to online fraud.

Where do I report a fraud call or message if I lost no money?

Report it on Sanchar Saathi's Chakshu facility. Use 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in when money was taken or a cybercrime was committed against you.
